A worn or frayed speedometer cable will make the speedometer shouter. As the speedometer cable becomes more frayed the speedometer will eventually quit working.
The exact location of the speedometer cable is dependent upon the make and model of your 1994 pickup truck. In general, the speedometer cable goes from the speedometer to the speed sensor.
Yes it will differ from real speed
you will need to change out the speedometer cable or if your lucky its just loose and fell off the back of the dash depending on the car make and model
Not knowing the year, make and model vehicle it limits how much we can help you. If the speedometer cluster is digital and both the speedometer and odometer is not working I would suspect the vehicle speed sensor is at fault. If only the speedometer is not working I would suspect the dash cluster is at fault.
Not lubricated
You can fix the speedometer in your 1994 Oldsmobile 98 by replacing the speedometer cable. If changing the speedometer cable does not fix your speedometer you will need to replace the entire speedometer.
It is an electronic speedometer. the sensor is located on top of the transmission. When I looked into getting a new one for my 89 it was about $80 new.
where is the electronic speedometer located where is the electronic speedometer located
Remove the dashboard cover. Remove the retaining ring, from the speedometer. Remove the speedometer cable from the back of the speedometer. Reverse the process to install the new speedometer.
The speedometer is not working. When the speedometer gets to 65 mph I set the cruise control.
Year, make and model would help.
