The old thermostat will simply lift out. Drop in the new thermostat. Put a new gasket on the thermostat housing. Secure the thermostat housing with the retaining bolts.
Either the thermostat was not the problem, or you put it in backwards.
follow the upper radiater hose to the top of the motor remove the housing and take out the thermostat be sure and remove all the gasket material clean and dry the housing and the area where the thermostat goes put on the new gasket and thermostat making sure not to put it in upside down good luck
remove the water spout on the intake manafold, the old thermostat should fall right out, then scrape off the old gasket, put a new on on, then drop the new thermostat in to the hole on the manifold,then replace the spout and put the bolts back in
U take the thermostat out, get a pot of water, put the thermostat in it and start it to boiling. When the water reaches the temp that the thermostat is designed to operate at it should open , if not , it is defective

The thermostat on a 1999 Kia Sportage is replace by removing the upper radiator hose, unbolting the thermostat housing, and removing the thermostat. A new gasket can then be put in place and a new thermostat installed.
Shouldn't be able to. If the thermostat is put in backwards, thethermostat housing will interfere with the thermostat. When placed in properly, the housing with install easily.
Remove the water supply hose from the top of your 1984 Chevy Corvette thermostat housing. Remove the thermostat housing retaining bolts. The old thermostat will lift out. Put the new thermostat in and reverse the process.
Follow the upper radiator hose to where it meets the engine. Remove the two bolts of the thermostat housing and remove and replace the thermostat.
