Clarification of terminology- Heater core not heater coil. And Yes there is a very good chance that it may be leaking.
it will start leaking from under the dash
The heater coil is leaking. Water from the cooling system runs through the heater coil to heat the passenger compartment. Antifreeze is corrosive, some heater coils are thin.
Either one of the heater hoses are leaking or you have a freeze plug on the side of the engine leaking.
Got the same issue here as well. It means that you have a misfire in #4 cylinder. Most likely it is the plug and coil in the #4 position due to leaking coolant from the heater core. Check to see if there is indeed coolant, if so when you change out the coil and plug you will want to replace the hose clamp just above the plug with a "screw to tighten" one.
yes it can. If your heater core is leaking it will leak on the passenger side floor in the cab of the truck or car.

the heater core, heater core hoses or heater control valve is leaking
You could have a loose or leaking freeze plug.
Sounds like heater core is leaking and needs to be replaced You probably have a leak in the heater coil of the air conditioning system. You can either get the coolant flow to the heater coil shut off (cheapest) and get along without heat in the car, get the heater coil repaired (iffy), or get it replaced (maybe get a used part from an auto salvage yard.
i found out its the heater coil needs to be replaced..thank you for your time
leaking spark plug wires can do it and also a clogged fuel filter. it could have a bad spark plug or a bad spark plug wire a bad coil pack or ecsesive oil leaking past the valve seal and its fouling a plug
