Since Poulan is still making chainsaws, there is no way to answer your question. If you contact Poulan Customer Service through their website, with the SERIAL NUMBER of your saw, they may be able to tell you.
Write down the serial number which should be printed on a serial number tag somewhere on the mower. Take the number to your local John Deere dealer and they should be able to tell you what year your mower was produced.
Just the serial number is not enough to tell who or what you have.
