Well my friend, Usually when any motor is about to go out on a car, the first sign would be compression lost. The second sign would be blue smoke. the blue smoke indicates your rings in your motor have gone bad and it's time to replace them. The best thing to do of course would be to get a new motor. why would you pull the engine out of your car just to rebuild the bottom of your motor? you might as well get one from a local auto store or hope you get lucky in a junk yard. Black smoke your engine can be saved and even white smoke, but blue you can say bye bye. If you feel it's worth the investment go for it. I highly advise you if blue smoke is the case with compression lost,it's best to get a new engine.
