The nipple should unscrew from the manifold. If you don't see a way to put a wrench, socket, or pipe wrench on it to unscrew it, you'll need to take it to a mechanic that can see a way to unscrew it. Happened to me a few months ago. Remove the inside rear panel and pull the latch manually. Then you can unscrew the broken latch and replace it.
