If would not be bad for a car engine to shift from third to second gear if you are traveling at 30mph.
Yep, then shift from second to third gear.
why want my 2003 ford superduty change into 3rd gear
It is the transmission gear selector. P = Park R = Reverse N = Neutral D = Drive 3 = Third Gear 2 = Second Gear L = Low Gear or First Gear Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Third Gear, Second Gear, Low Gear
in the H type groove, towards the front left position is the first gear ,straight back is the second gear.Towards right front is the third gear and straigth back is the forth gear. Towards the rightmost back is the reverse gear.Centre of the Groove is the neutral.
Low gearbox fluid could be start.
First check the gear oil in the transmission. If low top it up. If correct take the unit out and drive until the transmission is warm. (about 20-30 min) Then change the gear oil. Fresh gear oil may improve the shifting.
Seems like the junk syndrome. Buy a Honda
synchro second and third gear, not first gear
If it is a Electronic Auto transmission (1990ish onwards), it could be that the computerised gear change moduals are not working. Check the fuse first. It would be running in 'limp home mode' and only staying in third gear. even moving off from start in it.
First Gear: 3.625:1 Second Gear: 2.043:1 Third Gear: 1.394:1 Fourth Gear: 1.00:1 Fifth Gear: 0.853:1 Reverse: -4.039:1
missing teeth on third gear
