the dome light bulb can be burnt out or the door pins are sticking. check it out.
Does the bulb need to be replaced?
Try spraying WD40 in the door latch.
Some of the newer vehicles light switch is in the latch mechanism inside door panel
that button is usually for the dome light override so when doors are open lights can b turned off
is the switch on the dome light set to doors! if so, one of the door switches are stuck. spray all door switches with a good lubricating spray. and push on buttons with hand to free them up. if not that, then one of the door switches are bad. or the dome light bulb is burnt out.
you have a problem with a door switchor wiring concern. the light will go out after a longer than normal time because of the problem
Does the dome lights not stay on when the doors are left open?
The door jamb switch normally completes the power circuit to the dome lamp when the door is open. When the door is closed the switch opens the circuit, removing power from the dome light. If the switch is dirty, defective, stuck pushed in, or disconnected from the wiring, when the door is open the switch does not close the circuit and the dome light remains off as if the door is still closed. The headlight switch provides an "alternate path" to close the same circuit and allow power to the dome light. I had the same problem on a 1997 Chevy C1500 pickup truck.
It's either one of fuses or wires. I would check the fuse box first.
The dome light override switch next to the light might be bad. In one position (pushed in, I believe), it provides a constant 12V to the light. In the other position, it provides 12V to the light only when the doors are open. If the switch is bad, it might not be letting electricity through it at all.
