QUESTION NEEDS TO BE MORE SPECIFIC TO BE ANSWERED PROPERLY. It depends. How old is the vehicle? What make and model is it? Is the overdrive electronic or not? Is it integral with the vehicles Engine Management System? (E.M.S), Does the vehicle even have an E.M.S or is it too old for that? I had a "T" reg ('79 I think!) Triumph Dolomite 2.0 Sprint with overdrive. The overdrive switch broke but the car carried on working fine. In older cars (ones without fuel injection or engine management systems) it is possible to disconnect the overdrive switch, as all it does is open up additional valves. In newer cars the likelyhood of the overdrive being integrally linked with the E.M.S (cars "brain") is high and unless you want to think about recallibrating the E.M.S to work without overdrive capability you are flogging a dead horse! You could most likely bypass such a system but you would have to know EXACTLY which terminals did what, and without a schematic or even knowing what car it is, it is impossible to tell. There is a good chance that you would cause the E.M.S to reset itself by doing this incorrectly, and that could be expensive! Cant think of a decent enough reason to want to remove overdrive capability from a car anyway. You can always leave it turned off if you want to save fuel.
An IUD can be left in for years without causing problems. A hormonal IUD will lose effectiveness, though.
It is not recommended to pull a trailer with automatic trans in overdrive, put in drive only. When attempting to pull without locking out overdrive, trans will continue to shift from drive to 0verdrive causing a massive heat buildup. Heat is not good for automatic transmissions, and will eventually cause failure, causing your wallet a very bad day!
no it causes alot of problems
Two items are interchangeable if you can swap them without causing any problems.
You may damage the catalytic converter(s) and you probably won't pass emissions.
No. Three speeds are normally without overdrive. There may be another transmission that you could replace it with to get overdrive.
Yes you can, however you will forever get a check oil level alert on the info-center computer.
Overdrive just lets the car use the lowest gear. Without overdrive you are probably only using 3 gears, and with it you are probably using 4.
There is no remedy. Chromosomes are what make us who we are (DNA). It can not be changed without causing much greater problems.
As many as they could possibly hold without causing problems, the farmers do wish to optimize their profit.
It could have.
birth control doesnt usually ever cause problems other than the depo provera shot causes weight gain
