Aptitude and ability is two different things. I really good mechanic has both. An aptitude is having a knack for something, it comes naturally. An ability is something you learn from an outside source like a school or even experience. I found out early in life that I could understand how mechanical things worked together. It was just part of my mental makeup. I was always good with my hands. I honed my abilities by experience and on the job training. mechanics are in short supply these days and if you want to pursue that career, get into a good school and apply yourself to learning the skill.
