Online I looked up how Susanna Kaysen got the name Girl, Interrupted from, and this is what I got. Girl, Interrupted was the name of a painting which is from Vermeer. The name isnt exactly Girl, Interrupted it is A Girl Interrupted By Her Music. If you are wondering who Vermeer is he was a famous Artist, he was born in October 31, 1632 and he passed away in Decemer 15, 1675. His name is actually Johan Vermeer.

The movie Girl, Interrupted is based on the book. The book is about a 18 year old girl that is sent to a mental hospital and put into a taxi and brought to Mclean. Her name is Susanna Kaysen she ends up meeting one of her own. She was sent to her own parallel universe not being brought into life to live. She couldnt feel anything she had adventures. Met intersting people in her life that have the same experiences in life. Lisa is the most important character that becomes friends with Susanna. Susanna Kaysen was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder, while Lisa on the other hand was worse she was diagnosed as a Sociopath after being in the ward for 8 years in her life. She was later on released in the 70s. Susanna tryed to use the hospital on her way to get out. Lisas eyes saw freedom and she was a lifer she was energetic once in a while, she was different. Unlike girls in the hospital Lisa didnt use the hospital as a way to get out she used it to be free. The girls felt they were stuck ina torcher chamber waiting to get out, waiting to get out, and waiting to be released.
As the movie 'Girl, Interrupted' begins, an 18 year old girl was put into a taxi and taken to Mclean Hospital (a psychiatric hospital). Susanna Kaysen was diagnosed of having borderline- personality disorder. Susanna was depressed and while she was in the hospital she met her future friends at the hospital. There were many amazing girls brought into Susanna's life (similar to the story in the book). Through her interactions with her fellow patients and the hospital staff, Susanna learns many lessons about life and people and herself: 1.Susanna mostly spent time with one person called Lisa Rowe. Lisa was diagnosed as a sociopath. Lisa has many scars and she is afraid of being hurt. Lisa Rowe might cause some of the other girls depression. Even though Susanna spends most of her time with Lisa Rowe although she was more interested in someone else's life: Polly Clark. 2. Polly Clark is also a patientat the hospital. In trying to deal with her personal angst, she had set herself on fire. She now regrets it, but as soon as she lit that match her life flashed between her eyes. Someone found her awhile after, when she was already burned. She is different from most of the girls, and her family was more disfunctional than most of her fellow patients' families. What Polly is afraid of is that she will never be kissed, that no one is going to want to be with someone with no real face. That she won't want to be hugged by anyone. Susanna Kaysen was put into the mental hospital in 1968 and she was told she was only going to be there for a couple of weeks, but it didn't end up being that way. She stayed there for about 2 years. Susanna was put into Mclean because she tried to commit suicide by taking 50 aspirin. Susanna Kaysen is intelligent; she had a gift that she never used during high school. She had a gift that she was afraid to lose. The movie's themes are of healing and coming of age.
