It may not be your battery that is no good. It may be the starter. If it's not turning over then either it could be fried, one of the cables to the starter may be disconnected or one of the wires to the starter is corroded and your getting a short somewhere. My advice is if your vehicule is still under warranty bring it to the dealer if not don't go to Canadian Tire...go to a small town mechanic. But that's what I think
A slow crank or excessive power draw. Make sure that your battery is in good condition before condemning your starter.
no power? Try a Battery Jump-Box, Or Maybe the Starter is no Good? But if it dont Crank at all You are having some sort of Power Problem, all Fuses connected, Battery Terminals, etc..
If you battery has plenty of power, either faulty contacts in ignition switch or starter motor, or faulty starter motor.
Start by checking battery voltage and then use a test light to check for power at the starter when the button is pressed. If you have power at the starter with the button pressed it could be a bad starter. If no power at the starter then check into wiring and/or relays.
the starter isn't getting power or the battery is dead. do some tracing of the power and see where it isn't getting juice
This Is To General Question. It Could Be The Torque From The End Of A Ratchet To The Torque From An Electric Motor Shaft, Or From The End Of An Engine Crankshaft. This term is often used coloquially to indicate the power available from a car battery, i.e. how long will the starter "crank" before the battery goes dead.
IF YOUR MODEL HAS AN INLINE STARTER RELAY (BIG BLUE IDENTIFIED IN ENGINE ROOM) IT MAY HAVE FAILED. IF NOT THEN CHK FOR POWER AT STARTER, IF IT HAS POWER THEN STARTER IS BAD.
did it actually crank over or did it kinda crank then click it sounds like maybe the battery doesn't have enough power but if your sure it does i'd guess its your starter. or the selinod
not exactly sure whats being asked but if your wondering how to replace the starter you first disconnect the battery then disconect battery cable from starter unbolt the starter i believe two bolts the reverse for installlation make shure to keep track of any spacers on the original and duplicate with new one but it might not be the starter check the solinoid first its mounted on the starter in GM cars if just a click or bad crank power its starter if theres no click and no crank it might just be the solinoid
why would my starter wire burn, going from starter to battery
check for resistance to starter and check cables from battery for corrossion
Car batteries are quite universal. As long as the battery physically fits in the battery box it will work. When selecting a battery, get the battery with the highest cold cranking amps you can afford. The extra battery power helps the starter crank the engine over faster when it is cold.
