What year??If you have a c230 kompressor that's older, you probablyhave a "red" top to the valve cover, just remove thisred cover and the coils and spark plugs will be visible.remove the coils first, then the spark plugs.
This is a really simple task (I have done it many times on my 1988 Toyota celica). First of all you have to know where the spark plugs are on the car. To locate them open the hood and look on top of the engine you should see 4 red rubber things, take all of these off. For the next step you are going to need a ratchet wrench and a socket extension, and a sparkplug socket and a flashlight. 1. with the red rubber things out of place take the flashlight and look down into the hole you should see spark plugs in all of them. 2. Once youv'e located the spark plugs have use the ratchet wrench with the spark plug socket and unscrew all the sparkplugs and dispose of them properly. 3. put new spark plugs in and you are done. Simple. I hope this helped!
Could be spark plugs, spark plug wires or the cell pack. I've had the same problem with my 2005 PT Cruiser and it was the plugs that needed changing.
Checking for spark with CheckSpark is easy simply clip it on the wire and turn the engine over, Then check the lights, Green light means spark plug and wire are good, yellow light indicates a bad plug or wire, Red means no spark at all, and flashing red indicates low spark, plug short or flooded condition. CheckSpark actually evaluates the spark. So move from wire to wire read the lights and you could be done in less time than it took to read this. It's safe, simple and fast. You can get them on e-bay. Works on all engines with plugs and wires, new or old big or small.
It doesn't have them, the red part on top of the spark plugs is called Direct Ignition. It replaces coil and cables in the ignition system! Wasman, Saabforum.nl
Its plugged. replace.
The easiest way is to clip CheckSpark on the wire and turn the engine over. Green light , means all is good, yellow means spark is high, Indicating a bad plug or wire, Red means no spark at all, flashing red means low spark indicating flooded condition or fouled plug . since the engine cylinders are horizontally placed, the spark plugs are also in a horizontal position. the best way to find where the spark plug is located you follow the plug wire. start from the coil and follow that one wire and you will see that it is hooked on to somthingat the other end, and that is where the spark plug is. to change it you will have to pull the wire so that the plug is visible or touchable. you will need one of the two special spark plug sockets depending on the size of your spark plug, an extension rod and a rachet. if it is 4 cylinder then there should be 2 plugs on both sides giving a total of 4. i hope this helps :DAnswerSpark plugs on the Legacy EJ22 engine are mounted at approx 45 degree angle, faced up towards you, 2 plugs on each side. Work only on a COLD engine-- not started for 8 hours or more. Stand beside the right (passenger) tire, and follow the plug wires down from the coil. Find the big red rubber boot, remove by pulling out and up, remove spark plug using a 5/8 inch spark plug socket and an extension, replace with new plug (use anti-sieze on the threads), tighten until gasket begins compressing (resistance to turning), tighten approx 1/3 turn more, remove socket, re-install red rubber boot until you feel it "click". Do the other plugs, and done. Note-- the left side looks impossible, but the extension does indeed go straight down to the plug without trouble. The challenging part is removing the red rubber boots on the left side without breaking plastic things-- try reaching in from the back of the engine. Note-- avoid standard Autolite spark plugs, they tend to mis-fire. Platinum Autolites seem OK, as do just about everybody else's plugs. Verify spark plug gap before installing. I find that removing the windshield washer reservoir (two screws) lifting and placing it to one side permits much easier access to the spark plugs on the left hand (driver side)
Need to check the ing. coil and coil WIRE
