the same place you check it at.. lol. is it a manual or automatic??? you know manual transmissions dont have places to check oil right?
Manual transmissions dont use fluid, they use a kind of grease.
some transmissions dont have dipsticks, depending on which one you have.
You dont or you just change it
i think i dont know holds 16 quaters
The service on that vehicle is very easy. On the bottom of the transmission there is a drain plug. Pull that plug out and wait for the fluid to drain completly. Reinstall the plug and fill with HONDA transmission fluid that you buy from the dealer. the filter is not serviceable on this vehicle so dont worry about it. Use a funnel and pour the fluid down the dipstick tube making sure you dont overfill it.
if it is an automatic you cant yourself it is a closed system. if it is a manual i dont know.
If its a standard trans it dont have 1. If its an automatic it should be along the fire wall.
i have a lancer 2004 and my mechanic recommends I change it every 6 months and that timeframe makes sense if you want to keep the life of the transmissions longer because CVT transmissions in Lancers are sometimes troublesome if you dont maintain it
now this is just me but im quite sure standard transmissions dont have fluid. they are just packed with greese .... but then again i have an auto and have only worked on older things when it comes to trans.
manual transmissions dont have dipsticks. they have a plug on the side. take it out. and stick your finger in there. the fluid should be close to pouring out of the hole.
