Most aftermarket head units have either a fuse fixed in the back of them, or an inline fuse between the battery and your head unit. Most cars also have a fuse, usually 15A, which may be located in the interior fuse box of your car.
Pop you hood. to the left of your battery there is a fuse box. Open the fuse box. On the side closest to the battery, remove the first fuse labeled "20". That is the fuse for the stereo and radio on a 2004 nissan maxima.
if its a factory radio, then the fuse box... if it's an add on radio, you'll have to trace the power wire to the fuse box or battery d
in the fuse box or behind the stereo itself
It would be best to disconnect the battery but removing the fuse will also work as long as you are careful not to disrupt other hot wires while working in the dash.
Replace the CIG ATM 15amp fuse (fuse color Blue) that is in the fuse box under the driver side dash under CIG, you need to get your back on the floor by the gas pedals and look up under the steering wheel dash and you will see a cover with diagrams of fuses and what they are for, you needs to take that cover off to access the fuse, this fuse controls your cigarette lighter, clock and stereo.

It might be a faulty stereo. The car normally draws a very small amount of current when it is "off" to keep the clock running and the radio presets saved. A stereo malfunction can cause excessive power drain on this circuit. To see if this is indeed the problem, a simple test is to remove the stereo fuse from the fuse box (under the hood; see owner's manual) and see if the battery still drains. Note that you won't be able to use the stereo (and possibly the climate control?) with this fuse removed.
You must insert the 5 digit code in order for the radio to work.
run a wire from the battery to the radio with an inline fuse... or check ur fuses and see if its blown
