The fuel pump fuse is located in the power distribution box. The power distribution box is located in the engine compartment. The power distribution box contains high power fuses that protect the car's main electrical components from overloads.
The diagram of the fuses and systems they control can be found in the owners manual. On the 2001 Ford Focus the fuel pump is protected with fuse number 12, which is rated for 15A.
Always disconnect the battery before working on the power distribution box!
Always replace the power distribution box cover before reconnecting the battery!
There is also an emergency fuel pump shut-off switch, that turns off the fuel pump in case of an accident. The switch is located in the kick panel in the passenger side foot-well. The switch can be accessed through the recess in the kick panel.
Fuel pump fuse is #12, in the distribution box, under the hood. The fuel pump reset switch is on the right side in a little door, by the passenger's right leg. If the fuse is okay, check there. Last, you may have a faulty pump. The fuse is blue.
On a 2005 Ford Expedition : ( mini fuse # 12 is a 15 amp fuse for the fuel pump )

The 1992 Ford Ranger does not have a fuel pump shutoff switch. You can disable the fuel pump by removing the fuel pump fuse.
