How do you change the oil filter sending unit of a 1999 suburban?
if it POURS out, check drain plug, oil filter and oil pressure sending unit
On the ( 4.0 liter EFI , V6 engine ) in a 1996 Ford Ranger : The oil pressure sending unit is on the drivers side of the engine , below the power steering pump
That would be attached on top of the fuel pump/sending unit assembly.
Your fuel sending unit is in the gas tank, mounted from the top.
should be right next to the oil filter
the sending unit is located near the bottom of the block on the left ( driver side) it is on the same harness as the oil level switch
Remove the oil pressure sending unit retaining ring. Remove the wiring harness from the sending unit. Poll the sending unit out of the engine.
On most cars, the oil sending unit is just above the oil filter, although it can vary depending on the engine. On the 1996 Dodge Stratus with the V6 engine, it is above the oil filter. You will need to remove the filter before replacing the oil sending unit. The oil sending unit detects the oil pressure; it is different than the oil pump.
It is on th eback of the engine , next to the distributor.
It should be on the drivers side behind and below the injection pump.
On front of right head behind the belt tensioner
