The mass air flow sensor on an 02 lancer is located in the intake pipe, directly behind the air filter box. To get to it, you need to take out the air filter, undo some hose clamps, and some screw securing the sensor to the filter box. It's a bit tricky, and you'll need some pliers to hold the bolt ends that are inside the filter box. Only clean the sensor with mass airflow sensor cleaner!!!
