As you know the battery is in the trunk. It's a black hose about a foot long coming from the bumper back side of the trunk close to the battery. It attaches to the battery to let the battery gas escape to the outside of the car and not into the cars cabin. There is a small tube hole at the top of the battery that inserts into the tube. I hope that helps. I tried to be as descriptive as possible. I just found it on my car. I had never heard of it until just now. It was hard to see where it attached but easy to do.
It is on the right side of the engine bay, immediately under the 2 inch radiator hose, and beside the battery.
The battery is located underneath the rear seat on the right-hand side. Remove the vent hose assembly and the wedge clamp that secures the battery to the base, then remove the battery cables. After removing the battery, reverse the process with the replacement.

On a 1999 Lincoln continental the thermostat is located by following the lower radiator hose from the radiator to the engine. It is easily accessible from underneath on the front passenger side. Find the upper radiator hose and follow it to the engine. Normally it will be located somewhere where this hose meets the engine in a housing.
follow the upper hose from the radiator. it should be located under the air intake manifold.
