ON my 1999 sl2 it is the transmission fluid dipstick
It is called an AX15
It may require Dexron 3 or it may require a special Saturn fluid. Look in your owner's manual. If you do not have one call your local Saturn dealer. Using the wrong fluid can damage the transmission, so as I am not 100% sure, I cannot be positive.
According to the 1997 Ford Ranger owners manual : Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid is used in the 5 speed manual transmission
The recommended Oil for a manual transmission in a 1997 Saturn SL1 is synthetic multi-vehicle automatic transmission fluid or ATFQT. The recommended engine oil is SAE 5W-30 synthetic motor oil.
Mercon works.
It does not need transmission fluid. you need to fill the clutch up
According to the owners manual, a 1997 Ford Explorer 5 speed manual transmission takes Ford Motorcraft Mercon ATF (automatic transmission fluid)
Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid in the 5 speed manual transmission according to the 1997 Ford Mustang Owner Guide
It's right next to the transmission oil filter. It has a two-wire connector plugged into it. NOTE: if you have a manual transmission, there is no trans fluid temperature sensor.
The type should be engraved in the automatic transmission fluid dipstick . ( if you have the 5 speed manual transmission it would have Motorcraft MERCON automatic transmission fluid in it from the factory )
