The transmission filler plug for a standard transmission is behind a plastic cover under the drivers side wheel well. You have to remove three screws (I think that they are 3/8 or 5/16 in), one near the strut, one near the front of the wheel well, and one underneath near the bottom left end of the radiator. Pull the cover down and place it to the side. The filler plug will be exposed. The 5-speed manual transmission takes Dexron III auto transmission fluid. Have the car parked on level ground and just fill it up to the bottom of the hole. Replace the plug. Put back the cover and replace the three screws. It helps to turn your wheels all the way to the left before doing this procedure. There is a special cap available at some stores that has a built in valve and spout for use on Transmission Fluid bottles. Works great. Just be sure to place it in a paper towel afterwards to soak up the fluid.
Fix the cause, or keep adding fluid.

The 1986 Honda 350 transmission has a capacity of eight pints of transmission fluid. The manufacturer recommends that you never overfill the transmission fluid.

NO, Break Fluid Only
Transmission fluid is added to most vehicles in the same place that you check the fluid level. Pull the transmission fluid dipstick, insert a long funnel in the tube and add fluid there. Remember transmission fluid is added by the pint not quarts.
