Besides the clothes, wallet, and sunscreen, today's traveler also totes a host of high-tech gadgets. Nobody on a road trip wants the added annoyance of keeping track of all the car adapters as well. Plugging a single DC inverter into the vehicle's cigarette lighter or power port allows the driver to operate or charge any low-power electric device, plugging it in to the inverter the same way it would be plugged into a wall outlet. Laptops, PDAs, cell phones, and cameras can be kept charged on the go. Many inverters also offer a battery protection feature that will automatically shut down if the vehicle's battery is getting depleted. A DC inverter ensures that tech devices will remain fully charged and ready for use.
sounds like a bad light switch.
You cannot put a vehicle in neutral when the motor is turned off. You can put the vehicle in neutral while the motor is running. Then you can turn the vehicle off and the vehicle will remain neutral.
Ruin the battery.
The fan remains running after the vehicle shuts off in order for the engine to cool down. Once the motor cools down sensors trigger the fan to shut it off.
All lead acid batteries are always charged with the caps on. What this prevents is the acid accidentally boiling up an out of the cell and doing damage to surrounding equipment. When a car battery in a vehicle is charging when the engine is turning over, the caps remain on. This procedure should be no difference when the battery is on a plug in battery charger, the caps remain on. There are vent holes in the caps which allow any built up pressures to release.
The life of the battery. You never have to change it.
There is coolant in the engine block when the engine is not running. The engine block, heater, hoses and radiator remain full when engine is not running.

Turn the ignition key to the accessory position which is normally counterclockwise. Only the radio will be drawing power. If you have a good battery you could listen for a couple of hours without running the battery down. Any longer and the battery may go dead. Make sure that the headlights are off; these may still remain on when the key is in the accessory position. Headlights will drain the battery very quickly. It may also be advisable to run the engine for a few minutes every half-hour or so, to recharge the battery.
Unlike older vehicles, today's vehicles have computers and other electrical components that require the battery to remain connected to the vehicle circuitry full time thus requiring a small but constant use of battery power. A battery maintainer will keep a battery charged and can be connected full time without overcharging. These are pocket size version of the automatic battery charger, but only have low current capabilities of 1 amp or less.
Parasitic draw is in reference to electrical loss as Parasitic loss is in reference to horsepower loss through accessories that run off the drive belt that comes off the 'crank' of the engine such as the water pump, cooling fan, a/c compressor, power steering pump, super charger etc.. Parasitic loss in electrical is refered to a loss of electrical power when the vehicle engine is not running and the ignition is off. this could be a door ajar causing the interior light to remain on causing a electrical draw(parasitic loss) of the battery. Eventually causing the battery to die. Most causes of electrical loss are not this simple and require at times hours to track down. Fastest way I know is to unplug your vehicle harness in sections while having a meter monitoring the battery amps. Depending on the vehicle, a vehicle may have up to .050 amps of parasitic draw from items such as clock and radio memories, any more than that and you will have battery prolems if the vehicle is not run for several days.
