There is most definitely a problem with the spark plugs on the Ford Triton 5.7 V-8. The problems range from plugs that you can't remove to plugs that blow right out of the head. Changing spark plugs can be an easy task. Disconnect the battery and the spark plug cables, remove the old spark plugs, replace with the new spark plugs, connect the spark plug cables and the battery.
On the Ford Triton engines a separate coil is used for each cylinder. The coils are mounted over the top of the spark plugs. To access the spark plugs, remove the screws that secure the coils to the top of the cylinder heads and gently pull up on the coil to remove it and the short 3-4 inch plug wire that attaches the coil to the plug. A special knuckle joint or flex extension will be required to remove some of the plugs located at the rear of the engine. There are 4 spark plugs on the drivers side of the truck, four on the passenger side of the truck.
