If they mix with the wrong things, it can blow out.
valve guides and oil rings are most likely worn but a pcv valve can be stuck and blow blue smoke
It's called "blow-by. It's a condition caused when the piston rings do not seal adequately against the cylinder walls, and exhaust gasses "blow by" the pistons, into the crankcase. Oil vapor and small droplets are constantly movin around inside the engine, and the moving exhaust gas just blows some out of any available opening.
smokey exhaust. oil consumption
can exhaust manifold leak cause you to burn oil
Check operation of exhaust "heat riser" valve. Also check exhaust header gasket for leaks. Heat riser should be near the exhaust header, in exhaust pipe connection.
there is a check valve in the oil system that is stuck open over filling the oil tank will cause the dipstick to blow out of oiltank
For steam to come out the exhaust you probably have a bad head gasket or a cracked head. If the turbo had an oil seal fail it would cause blue smoke to come out the exhaust.
its loose
Leaking valve cover gaskets would leak onto the exhaust pipes under the hood of the car.
Usually a blown head gasket will cause your exhaust to blow out white smoke and you will have coolant in your oil. Check your oil to see if the oil is discolored. HTHon the northstar this isn't always true. the exhaust pressure is so great that it will more than likely blow the coolant out of the tailpipe before mixxing with the oil. this is what a dealership told me when i asked if i could use this method
burning oil
