It will be a 14 or 17 mm wrench.
There is a 14 mm bolt on back of caliper. Remove this & use a 4 mm Allen wrench to back piston into caliper.
The calipers need a 7 mm hex wrench. The Caliper holder to remove the rotors takes an 18mm socket. This is a 2003 Ford escape..apparently it's the same as a Mazda tribute.
I think that is a 14 mm open wrench, not Allen.
1. Tire iron to remove wheel 2. 17mm wrench to remove caliper 3. C-clamp or large pliers to compress caliper piston That's all :)
When you remove the caliper, the pads can be pressed out by hand.
It's either 14 or 17 mm wrench , not Allen key.
7mm Allen wrench
You will need a lot wrench to remove the tire. You will need a needle nosed pliers and screwdriver to remove the brake pads.
There is a cap that looks like the top of a cap screw, but it is a plug, not a bolt. If you remove the plug, you then put a 4mm hex wrench into the hole to back off the caliper (this is how the parking brake is adjusted). The cap is on the back of the caliper. When you put the new pads in, you tighten up the caliper with that same 4mm hex wrench, and back it off until the wheel turns freely. This is from a 4 wheel disk 2003 Mazda Protege 5.
you need to take off both caliper bolts and remove the caliper from the carriage... most Mazda calipers will not pivot...
It is not Allen . It is a 14 mm open wrench
Try 14 or 17 mm wrench. Most common on Jap cars that period.
