Basically there areCarbureted Engines which was the standard engine back 30 years ago and then Fuel Injection which is the exact opposite compared to a Carb. With Fuel Injection there is a electronic fuel pump controlled by a computer in the car, and the computer tells the the pump and Fuel Injectors precisely how much fuel to deliver at any given time. On the other hand, a Carburetor has a mechanical fuel pump that controls the amount of fuel based on the throttle position and engine RPM speed. Fuel Injection systems are mostly used to help save the amount of gas used, and to keep up with safety emissions, Fuel Injection gives off less Emissions than a Carburetor. Fuel Injection also makes for a fuel delivery system that requires basically no maintenance or tuning compared to a Carb. that does require regular tuning and Maintenance. Some people like fuel injection better than Carbureted and Vis versa. A lot of older sports cars and muscle cars still remain Carbureted to keep them original or because of performance. Many people argue about what system is better, but really it is whatever a person likes, me personally, i like carbueted engines probably because that's all ive ever been around fixing, though i do know about fuel injection. But every situation is different. A everyday modern car with Fuel Injection is good because of fuel economy and saves money, Carbureted cars are good for classic cars and performance cars, depending on personal preference of what an individual wants for his/her car.
Fuel injection
If it had a carburetor it would be on top of the engine but it has fuel injection there instead.
