When the fuel in an engine cylinder ignites prematurely or unevenly to cause power fluctuations and a "knocking" sound. usually occurs when an engine is very how or improperly timed.
can you elaborate? engine noise? stationary/moving? ticking, tapping or a definite knocking?
Engine knocking can be caused by numerous things. Having the incorrect spark plugs, carbon deposits on the cylinder walls, and being low on engine oil may all cause a knocking sound.
A hole in the muffler would cause a knocking sound in your muffler. A loose exhaust pipe can also cause a knocking noise.
My 2000 Grand Prix would have a low-speed knocking noise coming from the drivers side as the CV axle was failing. The loss of lubrication in the CV Boots allows the joint to make a knocking/tapping sound at a low speed. If the knocking is coming from the engine compartment, then it could be an entirely different problem.
it might be a bent piton rod if you or water or somthing into the engine

I would recommend taking it to a mechanic and have them listen to it. Everyone's definition of "knocking" is slightly different. Try not to drive it for too long; engine knocks can usually cause pretty severe damage to an engine.
NO it will not. If you have a knocking sound then you have trouble inside of the engine.
A seized gear can cause a knocking sound on a 1987 Nissan 5 speed transmission. A blown gasket can also cause this sound.
if you have an electrical fuel pump can sometimes do that
