The Jag takes a special size battery. The best way to get the right battery is to go to a good auto parts company and ask.

I've recently replaced mine. The industry standard code is "075" the dimensions in mm are 242(l)x175(w)x175(h)
For reference the Bosch codes for their S5 battery are:
(Short Code: S5004)
(BOSCH DIN: 561 400 060)
There are however many, many manufacturers who supply batteries of this size.
For the XJ-S I'd recommend one with plenty of cranking power. The last three digits of the DIN code show this. 060 for example is 600Amps
In the boot, under the battery
153624
Disconnect the battery and then reconnect.

If a 1992 Jaguar XJS stops working, you can still raise the top. However, this can depend on what is broken. If the battery is dead, then you wouldn't be able to do this.
I have a 1996 Jaguar XJS Convertible. It has a small backseat suitable for children.
The rad. coolant tank is located on the driver's side fender area.
Yes XJS wheels will fit XJ6; I know for a 1987 Jaguar but not sure about any other years I have run XJS wheels on my 1987 XJ6
