Stop leak is a temporary fix. I don't recommend it. Tighten the clamps on the hoses going into the raditor.
Autozone/ advanced auto usually has antifreeze that goes with either kind. I suggest that.
Boil over? As in antifreeze? that's probly a blown headgasket
The thermostat is usually located on the lower hose, where it attaches to the radiator
Radiator or hoses. Possible water pump
2.27 galons is the coolant capacity for the acura RL 96-04.
Antifreeze is not car specific as much as it is weather specific. look for the antifreeze that will work with your coldest weather to do exactly what it does which is prevents freezing. make sure to mix it 50/50 with water by dividing your radiator capacity in 1/2. many companies like prestone make premixed antifreeze as well I'm sorry but antifreeze is made for specific cars use what is compatible with your car or truck It uses regular Green.
you can either pull the hose for it or you can usually just open the drain plug on the radiator
1 gallon of antifreeze and 1 gallon of distilled water mixed 50/50 is sufficient to fill the system after it is drained and flushed. Or you can buy 2 gallons of premixed coolant. Be sure and replace the thermostat and bleed all air from the system. Make sure the heater control is set to HOT.
For a 1996 Ford Bronco : I don't know what the capacity is for the radiator alone : For the entire engine cooling system : 5.0L V8 , anywhere from 13 to 15 U.S. quarts depending on how it is equipped * manual or automatic , air conditioning , super engine cooling 5.8L V8 , 16 to 17 quarts It came from the factory with a 50 / 50 mix of distilled water and GREEN color antifreeze ( meeting Ford specification ESE-M97B44-A )
The capacity is 3 gallons. It consumes 1 ½ gallons of 50/50 antifreeze. Thus, the totall capacity should be 3 gallons.
