Yes. Car engined rely on pressure lubrication, and with a busted pump there won't be enough pressure.
the pressure of oil that the oil pump is pulling?
Defective oil pressure sending unit or the oil pump is defective.
It better have. Otherwise you need a new pump. And that is possible!
It does not dissolve in the oil. If the pump happens to pick up the sugar, the filter will stop it. If there is enough sugar, the filter could become restricted and oil glow will suffer. It does not dissolve in the oil. If the pump happens to pick up the sugar, the filter will stop it. no
there is a second oil pressure switch that shuts off the fuel pump if theres not enough oil pressure
The oil sending unit is bad or the oil pump is not pushing enough pressure.
If the oil level is too low this can happen. However, the oil pump, in the oil pan, could be going bad. At higher RPM the pump creats enough force, but at idle is doesn't. Check you oil level first, then look into the pump. Before going to far have a shop install an external oil pressure gauge and check the pressure. It may only be an oil pressure switch that is bad.
you need to install new oil pump
If the compression is high enough you get a diesel engine.
It displays the pressure that the oil pump is creating. Generally low oil pressure indicates that the main and/or rod bearings are worn. Many people misunderstand and think that the gauge is an indication of the conditon of the oil pump, but the simple reality is, oil pumps seldom fail and seldom wear enough to significantly lower the oil pressure. The oil pressure gauge is NOT a way to determine when you're low on oil. If that's your method, you're destroying the engine.
