You will loose oil pressure and the engine will starve for lubrication. The result will be a lack of oil to the bearings, rings, and valve train. This will cause the engine to overheat, more than likely blow a head gasket, and the bearings, rings, and valve train will wear very quickly. If you continue to drive the car the engine will eventually lock up. The end result will be an engine that is severely damaged and will need a major overhaul to put it right. The good news is that if you shut the engine off as soon as you see no oil pressure then no damage will be done. A new oil pump and it will be fine.
Usually you will not get an accurate oil pressure reading either too high or too low. Occasionally they will leak and pump oil through the switch
power for the fuel pump goes through the oil pressure sender so if you loose oil pressure it turns the engine off. Look at the oil pressure sender and the wire for it.

the pressure of oil that the oil pump is pulling?
no, however the fuel pump has a secondary route through the oil pressure switch. If the fuel pump relay goes out the pump will run through the oil pressure switch after the engine gets oil pressure. this results in extended engine cranking time before the engine will start
