On a 1996 Ford Crown Victoria : The H / L ( High / Low ) gauge : On the drivers side of the speedometer is the battery voltage gauge On the passenger side of the speedometer is the engine oil pressure gauge
I believe this model comes equiped with an oil pressure gauge, not an oil temp. gauge. The oil pressure gauge should rise when you push on the gas. The temp. gauge should be the other gauge marked H----C. This is just the engine temp. which probably will go up when you hit the gas. The oil pressure gauge is marked H-----L (High-----Low). If it goes up too much after warming up you might want to check the oil level. For an overheating problem I'd check the thermostat, radiator, and fan. You might look into getting bigger fan blades on it. That's what I did anyway.
I think you are referring to the Oil Pressure Gauge at the top of the dials and on the gauge with L and H either side. If this reaches H start to worry and Stop immediately
I suppose that TCH is Transmission Converter Hydraulic.
usally it means the wire is off the sending unit OR Grounded-It's an electrical sending unit- usally-if it's manuel-(Broke gauge) IF the OIL PRESSURE is really bad the VALVES will B tapping & the motor will make BAD noises & get VERY HOT.
