When a timing belt is going bad it can make a high-pitched screeching sound. It can sound like a high-pitch whirring noise. Not all timing belts make a noise when they are worn or going bad.
check timing. timing advance. or slack in timing chain/belt
It is not like a belt and pulley. A timing belt is a belt and it fits on a pulley.
The belt cover may have been installed incorrectly and either the belt or crank pulley could be hitting it, the belt may have been installed too tight or incorrectly also.
that's sounds more like the serpentine or power steering belt. Your timing belt is internal and you wont hear it but you will know when its broken... your car wont run.
AnswerI think this engine uses a timing chain, but I am not 100% positive. Regardless, the noise you are hearing is either a timing chain that is loose or a belt. I would suspect that the timing chain is loose. Have this looked at ASAP.It could also be the timing tensioner also.
it depends. is it a chained-like timing belt or a continuous piece of fabric-like timing belt?
It will make no sound, it will just break. When it breaks your engine will stop running. If the engine is an interference engine you will have serious engine damage.
I do not believe they do. An overtightened timing belt will just be noisy. Kind of like a squeeky belt.
Sounds like a loose or worn out belt on the engine.
NO, not for a timing belt (toothed rubber-like belt). But if it's a timing chain (a metal chain) then there is.
Maybe the timing belt broke.
