Destroy the engine.
The engine is burning oil.
it could be anything, from the axles to an engine with a lack of oil.
No you can not use gas engine oil in diesel engine oil because processing of diesel engine is different from gas engine oil. If you use this then it damage your vehicles.
A gas only engine has a spout where oil is added to the engine. If there is no spout, then it is a gas/oil engine. FYI - gas only engine is a four-stroke (four-cycle) engine and the gas/oil engine is two-stroke (two-cycle).
If my engine is hot, I would not even notice that as it evaporates very quickly...in hot oil.
If, like most weed eaters, it is powered by a 2-cycle engine that has oil mixed with the gas, yes, it will be harmful to the car. If nothing else, the oil will foul the spark plugs and damage the catalytic converter.
when changing the oil sometimes oil can be spilled on the engine block. as your engine heats up it causes this smell. it is completely normal
The engine of the car may need to be cleaned or your oil may need to be changed.
engine burning oil
If it is an older vehicle with a mechanical fuel pump-- diaphram could be torn allowing gas to be pumped directly into engine
If you have gas in your oil pan, then you probaby have gas in your oil. if you have gas in your oil, then you either have bad piston rings, or a bad carburetor (or injectors if the engine is newer). The way to check if you have bad piston rings is to see if you're blowing blue smoke out of your exhaust.
