∙ 13y agoIt actually can be from the rear axle being too low to the ground. The back of the car hits the speed bump. That was the case with my bro's car anyway

∙ 13y agoA lot of times the grinding sound that is heard when going over bumps is actually the car scraping the cement. If it is not a serious problem then the best thing to do would be to drive slow over the bumps.
A bad transmission. The sound is from metal grinding on eachother.
The bearings on the alternator could be going bad. Remove the belt from the alternator then spin the alternator by hand to listen for grinding.
A few things could be causing a grinding sound when turning. It could be a cv axle, ball joint, tie rod end, or bracket pin steering.
possibly your wheel bearing is on its way out
Usually it'll be a grinding sound.
Check if muffler is loose, check if rear brakes are worn out & grinding
CV Joint going out
The grinding sound means that the brake pads are worn down to metal and that sound you hear is metal to metal. you need to have the pads changed, the problem is that you will more than likely have to change the rotors also. The way to avoid this in the future is when you notice your brakes are making a squealing sound that means that the pads will need to be changed soon.
Could be a bad wheel bearing.
your brakes are about to give out... you should go to wal-mart and have them replace them
Yes, the differential can make a grinding sound.
