Bad sway bar- youll get a very loud cracking or popping from your tires. Feels like the tire might fall off but wont. Its not an urgent fix unless the noise drives you insane. But you do need to fix it or things could get worse, didnt fix mine for 6 months and it was fine. Luckily parts are cheap to fix it and you can do it yourself with alittle knowledge. If not 100 flat out in a repair shop.
A sway bar is a bar of spring steel It is bad if cracked, broken or has notches or slots worn into it. Sway bar noise usually comes from worn links or worn bushings, both a relatively easy thing to repair.
A little more information. Year/model. Some sway bar links become loose because of wear and the links continue to work but make a noise when the front end hits a bump. Other sway bar links will break altogether and the vehicle will lean excessivly when going around a corner.
The links go on the end on the sway bar and hook to the suspension. Bushings are used to connect the sway bar to cars frame.

The symptoms of a bad sway bar are when your car goes over bumps or railroad tracks, the back of your car will feel like it is swaying from side to side or toward one side. It can also make some noises that would be coming from under the car.
