If you know that there is spark at the distributor cap then I would think it would be bad spark plug leads.
Very simple to do. Purchase 4 new platinum spark plugs for the vehicle. You will need a spark plug socket (it has rubber on it to grip the spark plug you are taking out) and an extension of at least 8 inches. When you open the hood you will see the 4 spark plug leads on top of the engine. Unplug the leads ....put the spark plug socket down each hole and unscrew the spark plugs. The new spark plugs will likely be already gapped to the .043 inches needed. Screw the sparks plug in (I made sure I did not put the spark plug socket on the spark plug too tightly or you could leave the spark plug in the socket hole. A 15 minute job at the most
The correct name for the coil that leads to the spark plug is an ignition coil. If you go to a parts store and ask for anything else they will not know what you are talking about.
on the back of the motor you will see the spark plug leads leading up to them
The magneto armature is attached to the crankcase next to the flywheel. It can be located by following the spark plug wire. This leads directly from the spark plug to the magneto.

An electrical fault, check the spark plug, distributor and leads.
Battery, ignition coil, distributor, spark plug, high tension leads
there is the old petrol setup witch is, the distributor is turned by the cam shaft triggering a spark in the distributor cap witch runs threw the leads into the spark plug and the plug plugs fires in the bore when the piston is on the power stroke. then there is the new setup where the computer sends signals to the coil pack and the coil pack sends out electricity threw the leads casing a spark threw the spark plug
Battery, ignition coil, distributor, spark plug, high tension leads
If you put the spark plug leads back on in the wrong order the engine will most certainly miss fire. The best way is to find the number one spark plug wire and then follow clockwise the firing sequence for the engine.
same as any other car u remove the spark lead from the top of the engine beside the rocker cover then use a spark plug socket (which is longer than a normal one) to remove each spark plug be careful to put the leads back onto the same spark plug you removed and not to over tighten the spark plugs.
