The brake light would not come off on a geo 1991 prizm
all said it was the relay/switch OK took it to the shop, boss man busy 4 times
Had to go under steering column to see things
here is the solution for this problem.
I noticed there was some unexplained broken plastic on the car mat on the drivers side. after using a flat head screw driver to depress the brake switch, i found the switch to be ok, The problem was that the heat wave over the past month
for some reason caused the plastic brace/stop to loosen/break and fall out.
thus the switch was going thru a hole and not being in contact atall
Solution.. use any hard plastic/penny with super glue/ any that will not
melt to block the hole,
THE SWITCH IS LOCATED JUST AT THE TOP OF THE BRAKE PEDAL BY THE STEERING COLUMN BY THE PULL BACK SPRING YOU MIGHT NEED HELP TO HOLD
THE BRAKE DOWN FOR EASY FIX
on my sons 95 prism i had to loosen the nut on the brake light switch and turn it in a couple turns then retighten the nut, works fine
From inside the trunk.
because you ugly alternater.
I have a 1996 Prizm LSI and the OD switch is a small round button on the side of the shift lever. You could have accidentally switched it off and that is why you get the light.
If neither one is working, the first thing to check is your fuse. If the fuse is okay, replace the bulbs and if that doesn't work, it's probably the brake light switch. The switch is the least likely culprit though because they rarely go bad.
See the answer for the 90 model. Should be the same
it is in the trunk you just turn and pull the light out of the socket and the light bulb is a 194 i do believe
remove the 2 bolts on the outside of the lense then pull the assembly out.
where is located the oil pressure switch for 94 geo prizm
Be sure the dash light dimmer switch is not turned off. Check the fuses.
There isn't a relay involved. The power goes from the switch to the fuse and then to the lights.
That's easy... it's all in your mind, the last Chevy prizm model year was 2002
