Flush the transmission at your earliest opportunity. Motor oil probably won't do a lot of damage in the short term but oil makes things slippery that oughtn't be slippery...and slipping makes heat. Automatic transmissions don't like heat.
Note: simply dropping the pan and draining what's in the pan is not sufficient. You've got maybe a gallon hanging out in your torque converter and transmission cooler lines that needs to get changed out, too. Change your filter while you're at it.
Start to save your money cuz u just Screwed yurself
needs just a quart of trans oil but don't know where to put it
Because one quart of transmission fluid isn't enough. Call a Chevy dealership and ask them how much more you need to put in.
hehehe... "dipstick"... teehee
You failed to mention what fluid you accidentally put in. In any case, have the transmission fluid flushed out and replaced with the proper ATF right away.
Answer10w30 motor oil is sufficient, but for longevity you wuold want to go with hondas brand of manual transmission oilactually u need to put 80w 90 gear oil in ur tranny only about a quart and a half
No.
Add 1/2 quart at a time, until full.
i have a transmission i took off of a v8 350 motor and i wanna put it in a v6 motor. will it work? both are automatics
I have a 94' Q45 motor and transmission in my 1991 Q45 - so the answer is "probably".
Yes my car is a 1990 300zx with a 2008 350z motor and 6speed transmission
No you do not, you can leave the transmission were it's at. Just put a jack under the transmission to keep it from falling out.
