. It all depends on the type of radio. All manufacturers are different. Bypassing a parking brake on a Pioneer radio requires an interface. You can NOT just ground the parking brake wire. The least expensive, smallest, and best quality i have found are on microbypass.com. I am an installer and i use these all the time. The company also sells them on Ebay too.

Its very simple to bypass the parking brake on Kenwoods. All the parking brake wire is is a ground wire. So, all you need to do is take the parking brake wire and either ground it or join it to the ground wire on the harness by soldering or whatever you wanna do.
Take the pink or green wire and ground it to something metal... same way a parking would work...
If you're wanting to watch DVD's or use the rear camera while not in park, ground the pink "Brake" wire. Don't connect to 12v. Must ground it.

there is a bypass module u can purchase off eBay or elsewhere. Its a simple connection that works with any pioneer video system. I found a website that offers a guide with no module needed.
