Why does the check engine light and transmission light keep coming on once you replace the converter?

The flashing check engine light is meant to alert you that you may have a misfire in your engine that will cause catalytic converter damage. It may inform you of transmission faults, but the transmission light also serve as a maintenance reminder to let you know it is time to check or change your transmission fluid, or to take your vehicle to the dealer for regular maintenance.
