A flashing airbag light can mean one of two things. The first possibility is that your battery is in death throes. Have it tested at your local auto parts store. The second possibility is that there is an actual problem with the airbag system. Below is a list of airbag codes, which will flash on the warning light. For example, the light will flash once, pause and then flash twice == 12.
12=Low Battery Voltage
13=Air Bag Circuit Shorted to Ground
14=Primary Crash Sensor Circuit Shorted to Ground
21=Safing Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
22=Safing Sensor Output Shorted to Battery Voltage
23=Safing Sensor Circuit Input Feed/Return Circuit Open
24=Safing Sensor Output Feed/Return Circuit Open
32=Driver Side Air Bag Circuit High Resistance or Open
33=Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit High Resistance or Open
34=Driver Side Air Bag Circuit Low Resistance or Shorted
35=Passenger Side Air Bag Circuit Low Resistance or Shorted
41=RH Primary Crash Sensor Feed/Return Circuit Open
42=LH Primary Crash Sensor Feed/Return Circuit Open
44=RH Primary Crash Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
45=LH Primary Crash Sensor Not Mounted to Vehicle Properly
51=Air Bag Diagnostic Monitor Internal Thermal FuseFuse Blown Due to Intermittent Short to Ground
52=Backup Power SupplyVoltage Boost Fault

You need to get the error code, it will give an idea what to do next (Auto Zone does read error codes for free).
How do you reset your air bag light?Depend on year and make, but most of vehicle check airbag system (SRS) everytime you turn ignition on.it means, if you trick and clear airbag warning (not fixed), next time you turn ignition on, it comes back on.When you fix problem, next time you turn ignition on, it will be clear.It's not like "Check engine" light.It's more like "Charging system" or "Oil pressure" warning.You fix it, it clear.
Hold in the off and warmer buttons on your air conditioning.. and it will throw up error codes on the LCD panel that shows how much gas you have.
You will have to have the system checked for codes to know possible problems.
It sounds like it is giving you error code 32, which according to the air bag codes I found means: 32=Driver Side Air Bag Circuit High Resistance or Open:Is_there_a_chart_for_air_bag_light_error_codesAssuming the codes are the same across Ford.
It was the #5 Cyl Ignition Coil that caused the problem. Replaced it. After disconnecting the battery - The error codes cleared for about a day but then came back. Same codes. I decided to leave the check engine light on and see if the codes would clear on their own. Since my car was bought in California and I now live in Colorado Springs (major altitude change), I had to run the car for about week before the Fuel/Air mixture computer got the adjustments right and the check engine light went off.
I sent my original module to a company i found on google - www.myairbags.com They reset it for $55 and shipped back to me for free!
The light is on because there is a failure. You need to have the system checked for codes. When the failure is repaired, the light will clear itself.
The light stays on when there is a problem in the restraint system. Have the codes checked, repair the cause, clear the code and the light will be off.
The airbag light of a car won't go out if an error has been detected. This can be a defect in the airbag itself, the sensor, or the wiring.
The check engine light error code PO172 means that the system is too rich. The reason why the system is to rich is due to the mass air flow sensor being dirty or faulty.
The air bag light is on because there is a problem with the air bag system. As long as the air bag light is on the system is not working, so if you crash the bag won't work. The light won't go off until it's fixed. A scanning device can read the trouble codes to identify the problem. Many auto parts stores will read the codes for you for zip if you purchase the parts necessary to fix it from them.
