Gear lube is thicker than both ATF and motor oil.Gear lube is thicker than both ATF and motor oil.
Crankcase or motor oil is thicker than transmission oil. That's one difference, there may be more (other than color)
Im not 100% sure but its a call, Yes 2t oil is SAE 30 since its thicker than ATF(SAE 20).
Motor oil is more dense than gasoline. This is because motor oil is a heavier and thicker liquid compared to gasoline.
ATF+4 or use a synthetic 5w-30 motor oil. The motor oil will have to be changed every 6000 miles though. The ATF+4 can be left in for at least 50,000 miles.
not much. it would change the viscosity of the oil. the diesel oil is much thicker than regular engine oil.
when motor oil is heated it viscotity rises and becomes thicker
Motor oil is a higher viscosity and lower detergent level than tranny fluid. Drain the oil out asap and replace with ATF right away. To get all of the oil out you'll have to have a complete transmission drain that includes the converter as well. If you just drain the pan you only get about 1/3 or less of the total volume of ATF in there. FYI If you have sticking valve lifters before you change oil drain a quart out or wait till it's about a quart low. Add ATF to the crankcase but don't drive more than a few hundred miles. The ATF will loosen a lot of dirt the regular oil usually can't which may unstick the lifters. This is because ATF is so high in detergents.
This is a bad sign. If the water is in the crankcase this can mean that the head gasget has been blown and the water has leaked into places it should not go. Do not drive this vehicle until the problem is fixed.
15 is thicker oil and for bigger engines.
5w20 motor oil And for the tranny only use authentic Honda ATF.
10w30 is thicker than 5w20
