Yes
Now days they even charge more for kerosene than they do for ordinary unleaded gasoline or petrol if you prefer. Jet fuel is very similar to kerosene. You can use JP-5 in your jet engine or your diesel engine.

Well i think it really depends on the geographical location. Petrol prices in Mumbai,India, as of Dec,2010, is Rs.60/Ltr and prices of Jet Fuel in Rs.47/Ltr. Fuel Prices are at an astronomical high figure and have increased at a steep rate and i guess the trend will continue.
Because its not a regular fuel and it is not a fuel also water in now a days so it very expensive
Petroleum is the same exact thing as Fuel. A Barrel of oil is about 50 Gallons of fuel ( Approx.) 23 Gallons out of the Barrel is going towards your car. Demand is what is keeping the price very high. Actually here in the U.S. Fuel oil is more expensive than gasoline(petrol). And it is seasonal depending on supply and demand.

diesel is usually more expensive but diesel cars usually have more mpg than petrol cars
Diesel engines are more efficient and do use less fuel, but they do not cost less than a petrol engine, they cost more. Diesel fuel also costs more. A diesel engine will however last longer.
cost of refining the crude oil ofcourse... In the UK diesel is more expensive than normal unleaded petrol.
Yes, they will use less fuel but the fuel they use is more costly. A diesel vehicle also costs more than the same vehicle equipped with a petrol engine.
A petrol engine revs higher, which allows it to burn more fuel and output more power.
Because of higher compression ratio.
Supreme petrol is one way to say that the gasoline possesses more percentage of hydrocarbon. More the percentage of octane for a given petrol, it will burn more hence giving more energy and less unburnt hydrocarbons. Supreme petrol's are little expensive than regular petrol.
