A possible fault in the system can lead to any of the following:
(a) The light does not come on when you turn the ignition ON.
(b) The light stays on after the engine starts.
(c) The light comes on while you are driving.
Apart from the conventional causes of these faults (faulty airbag system), majority of the light indicator problem has been attributed to ignorance while fixing or repairing mechanical and/or wiring systems on within the vehicle.
If the SRS indicator light alerts you to a problem, have the supplemental restraint system inspected as soon as possible. If you ignore this indication, the airbags might not inflate when you need them.
Likely Causes and Precautions:

The security light comes on after you changed the keys in the ignition from the off position to the on position as a confirmation that the electrical components in the dash board are working. It is nothing to be concerned about.
Any time a warning light on the dash board comes on, it is an indication of something being wrong. It's a very simple concept. The lights are there to let the driver know that there is a problem.
The symbols on the dash board on a Mitsubishi Pajero are all of the warning lights. Some of the lights will include a seat belt light, check engine light and battery light.
