A coolant pressure test is used to detect a leak on the coolant system.
Oil in the coolant tank indicates a head gasket leak.
move the coolant bottle and then take a flat head pliers and pull up a plug located beneath the coolant bottle the plug is almost flat with a litle tip on it. Then use the dip stick for the motor oil to test the transmission oil
pressure test your coolant system, if it wont hold pressure you most likely have cracked some part of the engine internally, hence leaking coolant into the oil
Steps to check 1. are the fans coming on when its hot or when ac is on- their heat switch or fan motor 2. air in the system - burb it or see if the radiator has holes near the top or a faulty cap- could pressure test this system 3. thermostat - see if it has normal function of opening in 5 minutes or less 4. head gasket leak - look for oil or smear in coolant , you can test for oil in the coolant or coolant in the oil, also a leak down test
Oil and water do not mix. oil will float on top of coolant if you remove radiator cap this will be very visible, on the other hand coolant in oil will look milky white.
An oil coolant?æ hose is a tube or pipe that allows engine oil to circulate via the radiator in order to cool down. Without an oil coolant hose, oil will get to hot to operate efficiently.
This sounds like bad news. The coolant could be leaking into your engine and mixing with the engine oil, then cooking off. A simple test can tell if there's water in your oil.
Engine? 3.1L V6 are notorious for intake manifold gasket leaks. get it fixed soon or your engine is at risk. My Lumina had oil in coolant and coolant in oil. If there is tan foamy stuff on oil fill cap, coolant is in oil too.
The coolant has oil in it. Possible causes are a failed headgasket, or a leaking oil cooler,
No , if you start the engine than the oil and coolant will mix and it will also be in the oil filter
not supposed to be there
