You can use any d15 series motor as long as it is not vtec. But also it isn't to expensive to switch to a d15b vtec motor you just need vtec ecu and wiring harness that can be found for about $100 on eBay. I switched my car from d15 non-vtec to d15b vtec for about $650 including the price of the motor.
I was running a d15b engine in a 1989 Honda civic with an automatic transmission. It was completely bone stock and I would top of at 125~ mph.
It is very easy. We did this in my senior automotive class. Just
You need to replace your clutch.
your best bet to get more power than a d15 is to engine swap. a b18, b16, or a k20 are the most readily available. youll probably end up spending less on a b18 swap than upgrading the cams on a d15
what is better 1994 Honda 1.5 for turbo or 1996 or 99 i want like 700hp in that engine i know i can duet but i want your opinion
all cx came with 1.5l dx and si came with 1.6l easy way to check is the left side of the block right below the head and next to the transmission is a flat lip scrape it off and if it says something like d15b? or d16B? d15 is 1.5 and d 16 is 1.6
well if the motor is from that same year its going to be either a D15B(7/8) and that around 100 hp and the same for torque but it could be like mine and have the 96-2000 year motor which is D16Y(7/8) 7 is 1.6 liter non vtec with 106/103 number and 8 is vtec with 127/111
