The bag deflates a second later, with the harmless nitrogen gas escaping through holes in the back. well if u hit the concle of the car your hitting a solid, Hard object that will not move on your inpact. were as if u hit the air bag, the air bag will move as u hit it. wich wont hurt you as much. if u hit the dashboard full foce you will probley break a few ribs depending on ur hight, were if u hit the air bag. you'll just get the wind blown out of u. it's better to hit a bag full of air. then a board full of hard plastic
