i'm pretty sure you just unhook the negative battery terminal and then rehook it.

unhook the negative battery terminal and turn the key on and pump the brakes the turn the key off and hook the terminal back up and there you go
Hook up the positive first and the negative last. Unhook negatives first when removing.
The a sensor is bad, removing the cable resets the ecm
Unhook the pos terminal of the battery. touch the pos terminal lead to the ground post on the battery. The computer is now reset. Its that easy!

You need the key that came with the new ignition. Unhook the negative battery terminal, insert the key, wait about 15-20 minutes, then re-hook the battery terminal. If that doesn't work, yoi need to follow the procedure in the owner's manual.
No you do not have to unhook the battery. Althuogh you should do so anytime you perform any work on a vehicle.
unhook the battery terminal and connect it again that will cause the computer to restart meaning reprogram
unhook old one ( positive first then negative) then put new one in ( negative first)
Unhook the negative battery cable for 15-30 min
