, I had read on another site to place each shoe (1 at a time) in the microwave for 5 seconds each. You will see the lights light up immediately and then stop just as quick. So I tried it, and it worked :) I took out the 1st shoe, hit it on my hand and no bright lights!
Don't get me wrong, the lights are beautiful and great idea, especially if you take a family walk at night; but the pair my daughter has, have the lights on the top and sides and they are BRIGHT! Bright enough to give us both a headaches, so the lights had to go!
Best of luck!
The battery and controls are often found in the heel of the sneaker. Sometimes there is a outline in the center of heel that may depict its location. If not, have an adult cut a neat 1" x "1" square in the center of the heel with a box knife. Use a screwdriver to peel back the square at one end to reveal the electrical components. Sometimes the components are covered by a thin piece of plastic or cardboard. Use a pin nose plier to yank out the wires and component switch testing if lights stop with each piece extracted. Fill the hole under the cut area with 'Shoe-Glu' pushing back the cut area to reseal/water proof the sneaker. Add some shoe-glu one top to the cut area as well. Carl
Yes...they look almost identical yet they are cheaper! Plus, Skechers(who makes Bobs) donates a pair of shoes for every pair bought to less fortunate kids.
Some of the shoes you can turn the lights off and some you can't. Before you buy them, you should check.
